The BEC have recently concluded negotiations, at the request of NATS, on a new managerial structure within our airports portfolio. Main changes include a move towards the amalgamation of the General manager role and the Manager ATC at some airports and the re-introduction of a Manager Operations and Training in place of a MATC at others. The agreement has resulted in a net reduction of 9 posts, however not all of these are negotiated grades and the branch have successfully managed to agree a way forward which ensures that there is a non operational career opportunity for ATCOs at all of our airports in the UK. The union have also agreed a transition and implementation plan which should protect any members who are directly affected by the changes ahead. If any members have any questions then please feel free to get in touch with the salaries and structure team whose details are available on this website. The details of the agreement will be forwarded to all reps and copies will be available to members should they wish.
