One of three (including Service Provision & Safety) which report to the FAB management Board. Alex and the IAA chair were at pains to point out that there was no conspiracy to block TU involvement.

There are a number of initiatives ongoing at the moment by NATS and the IAA being presented as part of the FAB.  Some of the main ones below.

• West End Tiger Team work
• Dublin – Swanwick miles in trail trial
• Reduced MNPS in the SOTA
• Oceanic Interface Improvements
• Fuel efficient Oceanic track design tool
• Reduced Oceanic Separations
• Night Time Overflight Routes
• P600
• ENSURE (En-route Shannon Upper airspace Redesign)
• Continuous descent Approach- Manchester Arrivals
• Dublin/Man/Belfast TMA redesign

A joint group will measure performance/effectiveness and service improvements etc.
There are no plans at present on the table for flexible airspace. Much discussion about regulatory issues and interface with other FABS, Lee Boulton feeds into FABEC.
